FAQs

Do I need HOA approval?

Yes, in order to install pavers in a community where there is a Homeowners Association (HOA), you will likely need to get permission. HOAs frequently have clear guidelines about outside changes, such as projects involving driveways, patios, and walkways.

What are the benefits of choosing pavers over concrete?

When compared to concrete, pavers offer greater flexibility, durability, and aesthetic appeal. They can be easily replaced in the case of damage. Pavers are a great way to add curb appeal and value to your home. They come in a variety of colors and shapes, and can be customized to match the style of your home. Pavers can withstand greater stress with less expense for repairs than concrete, which cracks when subjected to heavy loads and freeze-thaw cycles.

How long should I wait before walking or driving on my pavers?

If sealer has not been applied, you can walk on your newly installed pavers immediately, but avoid stepping on or near the edges additionally, especially if concrete edging was used, as these areas need extra time to dry and set properly. Additionally, avoid heavy traffic for the first 24-48 hours to allow the pavers to settle. For driveways, wait at least 24 hours before driving to ensure everything is set. If you applied sealer, wait 12-24 hours to walk on the pavers and 24-48 hours before driving on the pavers.

Do I need to seal my pavers?

Sealing your pavers is optional but it is highly recommended. Sealer can extend the life of your pavers. Sealing enhances the appearance of the pavers, weather damage, and sun damage.

How often should I reseal my pavers?

It is generally recommended to reseal your pavers every 2-3 years, depending on the level of exposure to sunlight, weather, and traffic. Areas with high traffic and harsh weather conditions may require more frequent resealing to maintain optimal protection. If you are not sure if you need to re-seal your pavers, give us a call and we will be more than happy to check it out!

What is the maintenance required for pavers?

To maintain the beautiful appearance of your pavers, regular sweeping, occasional washing, and resealing every two to three years should be enough. Sanding and the occasional application of a weed inhibitor can be used to control the growth of weeds between the joints.
